Freedom Foods: New Range

During September Freedom Foods has a competition on their Facebook page. The competition required you to create your dream cereal in 25 words or less. I was in shock when I received the email two weeks ago telling me I had won and in even more shock when I returned home that Friday to find three hampers for me.

The three hampers were in beautiful baskets and inside were the new product ranges that Freedom Foods has been raving about.

Freedom Foods Prize Pack Gluten Free Cereal

The three hampers were in beautiful baskets and inside were the new product ranges that Freedom Foods has been raving about.

There were seven products in each basket; three muesli bars, two of their new cereal snack packs, two of their new gourmet range and then one box of their new muesli cereal.

Since I received the products on the Friday before the gluten free expo, i decided i’d wait to open any of them until I had taste tested them at the Freedom Foods stall on SundayFreedom Foods Craft Muesli Bar Gluten Free. After taste testing them I decided they were definitely right up my alley.

I am not a huge fan of muesli bars, they are usually tough to bite into and chew on but the chunks we were able to taste test at the stall were soft gooey and tasted like lollies.

My favourite of the three bars is the Cranberries, Pomegranate and Goji Berries, it really does have the flavour of a lolly. The Maca Chickpeas and Sultanas and Greens: Pepitas, Spinach and Chickpeas are both more savory. The use of cane sugar however gives them a sweet side. They are beautiful snacks or are great for eating on a morning run. All the products are not only gluten free but they are nut free as well.

I currently can’t see these on the Coles website but they can be bought from Woolworths; they retail for $2.50 each. They don’t seem to be able to be purchased in any bulk packs at the current moment.

New Freedom Food CrunchersThe two crunches boxes we received I believe are just repacks of two of their best selling breakfast cereals. In fact I eat their XO Crunch for breakfast a few times a week. The two flavours are the XO Crunch and the Rainbow Crunch. They each come with 8 packs inside that as the box says are perfect for lunch boxes. You could also use these to portion out your cereal in the morning if like me you get a little carried away with the box. I can’t taste any major differences between these snack version and the cereal. They are really nice little treats that taste good without being over sweet and artificial.

Again at the moment I can’t see them on the Coles website but you can get them from Woolworths; these retail for $4.99 a box.

To go hand in hand with their new Crafted Blends muesli bars; I received their two crafted blends breakfast cereal. I haven’t had a chance to fully taste these yet but they do New Freedom Foods Crafted Blends Cerealsound absolutely delicious. There are two different varieties, they both have the same base notes; “A super food flake blended with chia, buckwheat, sorghum and brown rice,” however they are each crafted with different flavours.

One matches the muesli bar, flavoured with pomegranate, cranberries and goji Berries. I know that goji berries can be very sour and are an accustomed taste. In the muesli bar I didn’t get too much of that strong flavour so I am hoping that the cereal is the same.

The second flavour is crafted with lemon myrtle, bush honey and crunchy chickpeas. This one sounds very natural and has my interest peaked. Unfortunately they will have to wait until I finish my current cereal before I can try them. They retail at Woolworths for $7.99; the pack is 400g and the other Freedom Food Products they are also Nut free, Egg free, dairy free and soy free.

Freedom Foods Toasted Vanilla Muesli ReviewThe final product that was in the prize basket was a box of their new to the market Toasted Vanilla Muesli.  This I did get a chance to try and although I am not a big muesli fan I do really enjoy this.

The ingredients chosen give the whole product a light feel with a natural sweetness to it. Although it already contains golden syrup I add some extra honey (we currently have an orange blossom honey that is brilliant with it) I think the reason that I enjoy this muesli so much is that I really like puffed grains. The puffed sorghum reminds me of popcorn or puffed corn which I used to eat in the mornings in place of a muesli. There are also chickpeas and fava beans for added crunch and like the other products this is also, nut free, soy free, egg free and dairy free on top of being gluten free.

I enjoy it with some vanilla yoghurt in the mornings or sometimes even as dessert. This retails for $6.49 at Woolworths.

So those are my opinions of the prize pack that I won from Freedom Foods, of course you should be free to make up your own mind. I don’t need all of these boxes of cereal and muesli. Please let me know in the comments below if you’d be interested in a giveaway. If I get enough interest I will make up two prize packs; one the Crafted Blends and the other of the toasted vanilla muesli and the Crunchers and start a giveaway for you to enter.

I hope you enjoyed seeing a quick glimpse of the new products from Freedom Foods, again let me know if you’d be interested in a giveaway and don’t forget to subscribe to our fortnightly newsletter so that you never miss a thing.

Until Next Time.
