What started as a special buy has thankfully become part of the permanent range at Aldi. The Cake Stall gluten free chocolate brownie bites turned up on the shelves of the bakery aisle at Aldi almost two years ago, perhaps a little longer. As per many Aldi items they then disappeared for a couple of months before re-appearing and now they seem to be hanging around.
Similar to the Cake Mark brownies that can be found in Woolworths, these are bite-sized chocolate brownies. They come in a plastic tub for $2.99 and you may often find in the bread area. In terms of allergens, the brownies contain milk, soy and egg, as well as sustainable palm oil. They have a may contain statement for peanuts and tree nuts but they are suitable for vegetarians. They boast no artificial colours and flavours as well as no preservatives.
The flavour is fairly rich with crunchy chocolate chips inside. They are really soft but be warned they are crumbly. Despite the crumbly nature, they are not too dry and once you bite into them they are quite moist. These brownie bites are definitely dangerous to your waistline. I can never get them to last very long at all. For the price, they are also great if you need a small party treat. Additionally, these work really well for edible dirt.
The Cake Stall brand is exclusive to Aldi stores, so you can unfortunately only purchase these from there. The majority of stores I have visited have them but of course, the stock will vary depending on the store. Have you tried these brownie bites yet? If so, what did you think of them?
