Arriving on Monday the June Gluten Free Box is filled with loads of delicious treats. For those of you who don’t know what the AGFL Gluten Free Subscription box is, it is a monthly subscription box sold by Australian Gluten Free Life. For a look at the past boxes you can head to my AGFL Page. If you are more inclined just to buy one for yourself then you can head to www.agfl.com.au.
I was delighted to find the Berry Frugo’s from Go Natural in this box. These are one of my favourite sweet treats. These are yoghurt covered berry flavoured balls that melt in your mouth and are incredibly moreish. They are definitely on the sweeter side of treats so I have to portion them well. I usually purchase them from my local IGA but you can also buy them at Woolworths and Coles. Woolworths sells them for $3.60 and Coles for $4.07.
Hart and Soul Laksa
One thing I can’t get enough of during winter is ‘heat and eat’ soup mixes. The Australian Gluten Free Life team clearly thinks the same because they added the Hart & Soul Laksa to our June box. For those with allergies, the Laksa does contain soybean, fish and crustaceans with added spices including ginger and chilli. This range typically retails at $3.99 a pack.
Quinoa & Co Meals
I spoke about these Quinoa and Co. Meals briefly in my Gluten Free Finds earlier this year. They are heat and eat meal packs perfect for lunches that contain Quinoa and a vegetable mix. Each component is in a separate container in the pack and you mix them together before heating. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Artichoke meal due to my taste buds, however, when I added some tuna and a bit of chilli sauce it was really nice. The range is available in Woolworths stores and retails online for $4.99.
Choc Mint Fudge Bar
My favourite thing about the AGFL box is finding brands I didn’t know of before or didn’t know did gluten free. Last year we received the Yours Truly Cocoa Spuds. Such a curious product that tasted so delicious. That was my first exposure to the South Australian brand and now I’ve got my second look with their Choc Mint Fudge Bar. This bar is absolutely decadent. It has a creamy mint filling reminiscent of any after dinner mint chocolate. This is something I need more of in my life. These bars don’t have a retail price just yet. However, I’d make an estimate of around $2.99.
Along with that above, we also got two single packs of the Nuzest smoothie sachets. They are simple with a serve of 5 fruits, 5 vegetables and protein. I received the Berry and Coconut varieties but I do know my co-worker received the cacao mint. In their online store, you can buy 10 of these pouches for $32.95. That places each single serve at roughly $3.30. Since we have two of them, that is $6.60 worth of value.
This is a brand I haven’t heard of before, created by a nutritionist and food scientist. The Midas Cup is a blend of superfood spices and can be used in drinks or added to a recipe. The product is gluten free, sugar-free, dairy-free and with no preservatives. The powder sachet can be used in many different ways and on their website they have plenty of recipes to help you. This sample size can be bought for $5.00 on their website.
Thank You Bar
Finally, we have a Nut and Chia bar from Thank You. This is another brand we have seen before but if you don’t know about it, every Thank You food pack helps people in need. On their website, a six pack sells for $5.50, in service stations you can usually pick them up for around about $1.00. It has a nut medley of cashews, almonds and peanuts, drizzled with honey. These are perfect for keeping in your bag for on the go snacks.
That is a look at everything in the June Gluten Free Box. I always say that Cara outdoes herself but it is true. This box hasn’t lasted very long at all. I can’t wait to see what they share with us in July.
If you like discovering new products just like me, as mentioned above you can head to www.agfl.com.au and sign up. For recall notifications, subscriber perks and more sign up to the weekly newsletter.
On Monday I’ll be reviewing the lunch that Steph and I had at Supercharger at the Melbourne Emporium.
Until Next Time;
