AGFL: The Box – July

It is that time of the month again, the July gluten free box has arrived and we get to take a look at what is inside. As always you can find all the details and previous AGFL boxes located here. I purchased this box with my own money from Australian Gluten Free Life. If you want your own, head over to their website and click the subscribe tab.

This month has certainly got you covered when it comes to snacks. With seven items from various suppliers, there should be something everyone can enjoy.

Carman’s Bliss Balls

Gluten Free Carman's Bliss Balls

We’ve previously received the Almond Supereed Vanilla Carman’s Bliss Balls. This month we get to try the apple, cashew and coconut variety. These are really handy to keep in your bag as a quick snack if you are on the go. The pack is 100 grams and can be picked up from Coles supermarkets for $4.95.

The Chia Co.

Gluten Free Chia Pod

Another great item for if you are on the go is the Chia Pods from The Chia Co. These handy snack packs come with a spoon which makes them easy to eat while out and about. The flavour we received is the apple spice with chia seed, coconut milk and apple and spices. These can be bought from both Coles or Woolworths in other varieties for $3.00.

enrGIsustain Bar

EnrGIsustain Bar

Keeping with the snack theme, we have a snack bar from enrGIsustain. The bar is promoted to have low GI ingredients to keep blood sugars steady while providing you with long lasting energy. They are high in protein and have added vitamins and minerals. As well as being able to pick them up in bulk from their online store, each bar retails for $4.95 in selected health food stores Australia wide.

The Spice Trading Company

Gluten Free Dip Mix

I thoroughly enjoyed my last look at The Spice Trading Company’s products. In a previous box, I received the Rockin’ Moroccan Medley which was delicious with fish. This month we get to try the Magical Mint and Coriander season mix. I already have plans to recreate that mint yoghurt from Delhicious by adding this mix to some greek yoghurt. Over on the Spice Trading Company’s website you can pick up any on of their packets for $4.95. The full range includes a perky pumpkin and chilli seasoning that sounds like it would make delicious gnocchi.

San Remo Pulse Pasta

Gluten Free San Remo Pulse Pasta

This next item I am excited to try. A few people have been posting about it recently and that product is the new Pulse Pasta from San Remo. Rather than utilizing traditional flours, the pulse pasta combines the flour of pea, lentils, chickpeas and beans to create a high protein pasta. This product is endorsed by Coeliac Australia which always makes it easy to find safe products. With more fibre and fewer carbs, I can not wait to give this a try and see what I think. Let me know if you want a full review of the Pulse pasta range. The Pulse Penne Pasta can be purchased from Woolworths for $3.99.

Hart and Soul Soup

Gluten Free Vegetable Tagine

You’ve heard me talk about their lentil and coconut collaboration last year. Then earlier this year we got to enjoy their Laksa and now AGFL brings us the Hart & Soul Vegetable Tagine. A Moroccan-inspired soup made with sweet potato, chickpeas, tomato, capsicum and raisins. I always love getting soups, especially in winter because it gives me lunch options. This and the other varieties can be found in Woolworths for $3.99.

Kallo Rice Cakes

Kallo Gluten Free Rice Cakes Gluten Free Box

Milk chocolate rice cakes are one of my favourite snacks! From the table of plenty to the Aldi rice cakes I almost always have some on hand. Now there is a new player in my snacking life and that is the Kallo rice cakes. Distributed by Kadac these rice cakes retail for $4.19 a packet. I have also found these in my local IGA.

That is it for the July gluten free subscription box. In total the retail price of the content is $30.02. For me, I pay $25 a month including shipping so it is well worth its value like always. Let me know how you enjoyed your box this month and don’t forget to subscribe to the Aussie Coeliac Newsletter.

It may be too late to enter my giveaway but the winner will be announced live tonight so head over to both my instagram and facebook to see who won.

Until Next Time;

Ashlee; The Aussie Coeliac.
