This is our final post for 2017 can you believe it? The Gluten Free Subscription box from Australian Gluten Free Life arrived today. If you don’t know about the Australian Gluten Free Life box, you can read all about it on my AGFL The Box page. I am not affiliated with the company and I have been buying these boxes for almost three years now. I was hoping the December box would be exciting and I wasn’t disappointed so let’s dig in.
Go Natural Snack Bars
This month we received two bars from Go Natural. The first was your standard Walnut, Dates, Cashew and Chia Seeds bar. However, the second bar was much more interesting. Alongside the first bar, we received the Nut Delight in Sea Salt Caramel with dark chocolate. If you like me enjoy a more indulgent snack then this is the way to go. The Walnut, Dates, Cashew and Chia bar is $2.20 at Coles. While the Salted Caramel bar is roughly $1.89 each based on the Go Natural online store price.
Lotus Pantry Quinoa Flakes
I have been loving all the products from Lotus Pantry lately. We have previously gotten green banana flour, slippery elm bark and other ingredients. Well, this month we received rolled quinoa flakes. Quinoa flakes are really versatile and I’ve used them in a few recipes including my Honey, Banana and Quinoa Flake Muffins. You can purchase the Lotus Pantry quinoa flakes from speciality health food stores and it retails for $7.99.
Stamina State Snacks
From Stamina State Snacks we got puffed chickpeas. These lightly salted snacks are organic, nut free, dairy free, gluten free and vegan. They also boast no added sugars or sweeteners and no additives and preservatives. These snacks come in the lightly salted, hot and spicy, french onion and sweet tomato. You can purchase them online in bulk, but our 45g pack is valued at $2.87. In addition to the Chibbs puffed chickpeas, we also were treated to a 10% discount code.
Forbidden Black Rice & Quinoa
If you didn’t know I adore black rice and have a large bag of the Forbidden uncooked black rice from Costco in my pantry. I didn’t know they did instant meal sachets, which meant I was extremely excited when I found this in the box. The Black Rice and Quinoa pouch can be microwaved in pouch for 45 seconds. It is a single serve perfect for tuna rice for lunch. In addition to being gluten free it is also certified organic and 98% fat free. I can’t wait to buy more of these. This brand new rice pouch retails for $3.99 and can be purchased at selected stores. You can find a list of stockists on the website.
Grants of Australia
After all the treats that you may have eaten over Christmas, toothpaste is probably going to be handy. Since it is in a gluten free post, some of you may be concerned about the risk of gluten in toothpaste. Coeliac Australia has stated that gluten is not included in Australian toothpaste, however, it is a concern in other countries. Never-the-less if you are looking for an organic and cruelty-free toothpaste then Grants of Australia could be for you. The Mild Mint with Aloe Vera is a natural toothpaste that is certified vegan and Australian made and owned. The toothpaste can be purchased from selected health food stores including Go Vita locations. Finally, the tube is priced at $4.20 for 100 grams.
The final item in the box is the Coconut Macadamia Bounce energy ball. The energy ball is a blend of coconut, macadamia and cashew filled with 22.5% protein. It is gluten free with nothing artificial and no refined sugar. The 40g ball retails for $3.00 from Woolworths stores. They are really handy as quick snacks in your bag, however, they aren’t my favourite option.
That’s it for the box, it had a retail value of around $26.14. As always this includes the shipping as shipping is free. I pay $25 a month on the 6-month plan. Click here, if you want to see exactly what each month has brought us so far.
That was an exciting December box. I hope you found some new products to check out. I can’t wait to see what 2018 will bring in terms of the Australian Gluten Free Life box. If you want to subscribe head over to the AGFL website and hit the subscribe button.
